MODERN SOCIETY FEEDS AND SURVIVES ON HUMAN GREED
If you’re an artist in an age of low expectations and lottery fantasies where consumerism has replaced politricks you continually struggle to be heard. Your chances diminish even more if your artwork conveys a strong social message, with a large dash of dark humour combined with striking imagery and a passion for anti-propaganda emanating from a life firmly rooted in the counter-culture scene since the early eighties. In todays world we are bombarded with conventional propaganda where our ideas and dreams are encapsulated and confirmed within the reality of a television diet. This is my attempt to avoid this route and to rise above the bland corporate plague.
SILENCE KILLED THE ART OF REVOLUTION
It is very difficult to convey the aesthetic quality of my work by viewing a scaled picture on a website, but it will give you a good taster and a clear idea of the nature of the pieces. This body of work is best viewed when mounted on a wall in a relaxly lit environment. This is definitely the case with the lightboxes which are installation pieces that come alive when used as background lighting to enhance your living space, work environment or wherever you would consider it to be appropriate. People are always pleasantly surprised at the quality and effectiveness of the work after only being aware of it through pictures or verbal descriptions which come a poor second to the real thing. I do hope my thoughts and ideas conveyed through this medium bring something positive into your life either directly or indirectly.

A.O.F create more than lightboxes and this site will allow you a glimpse at past and present work and projects. For instance, the t-shirts produced allow the work to find a wider audience since it is realised that not everyone can afford to purchase the light-boxes and screenprints that these designs originate from. The belief in the style and strength of the work aids its ability to cross from one medium to another while still maintaining its original strengths. Under the mantle of A.O.F I am also responsible for designing and creating all the graphic elements, artwork, printed media and ideas that package and promote the music of Ruben Vine. In an age of mass produced soulless products I create bespoke, handmade and quality artefacts that hopefully are consider something of substance
IN A WORLD FULL OF WANNABES WHO WOULD WANNA BE?
There have been shows and exhibitions in galleries and other more diverse areas and I am always happy to consider presenting a show in whatever arena it maybe, but due to negative experiences involving the more commercial galleries and individuals who consider a quick income above the correct representation of the artist and their work I only consider offers from those I consider to be the genuine article. Unfortunately in this world some people are just no good. Carpe Diem.
